Sunday, August 19, 2007 0:24 AM The Farm Boys are ISC World Champs!
WOW! Congratulations to the The Farm Tavern as they went undefeted to become world champions! It has been a fun week of following the excitement of the 2007 ISC World Tournament. What an amazing gift Rod gave Jesse by giving him the opportunity to join the team in Kitchner.... not to mention Rob for putting that thought out there! I am at a loss for words on what this means... AWESOME!!!!!! I know Jesse loves to play the game , loves the team comraderie and has missed it the last couple seasons... What a way to get back in the game! I of course am kicking myself for not getting on a plane to be there to share the moment with Jess... But... Mizuno and I were watching, cheering and sending our love! The game was broadcast in Ontario and they will be selling dvds of the game... Can't wait to see it again! Words cannot describe the special time Jesse and I had with our favorite Alaskans! Lots of laughs!!!!! Brief details... We were able to spend some time watching Kyle and Aly play ball at the Minors Camp, Aly's practice and Kyles game... They are both great ball players and wear #12... same as Uncle Jesse! Scott Head Coaches Aly's team and Asst. Coaches Kyles team... He made the crowd laugh at Kyle's game when he kicked dirt on an umpire and took his plate of nachos to the coaches meeting at home plate! Jesse and I took Kyle and Aly with us to Hatcher's Pass and a full day trip to Danali... Fun times... Jesse did not see a moose untilt he last day! Although... I am not sure our "Wildlife Left Lookout Girl" (Aly) was doing her job as towards the end of our Danali trip we learned of all the snacks she ate along the way... It was a LOOOOOOONG list so that may have distracted her from her lookout duties! :) But that was OK since Uncle Jesse refused to stop to eat at any restaurant that had animal skins on the wall... we ended up at Subway at 9 pm! Great memories! One day Jesse and I headed by ourselvs to Seward and took the 5.5 hour whale watching tour... Beautiful! After, we hit Exit Glacier even though we were pooped... Didn't get there until 9 pm... but it was still light... Still light after midnight when we got back to Wasilla... We got a kick out of that! Everyday there was some sort of head-to-head or tournament with the kid's new Wii Gaming system... Tennis, Baseball, Golf and Bowling... Very fun... Aly, Kyle Jesse were so fun to watch as they are ALL very competitive! I ended up on the "losers coach" all too often! We all jumped in the RV and headed to the Minors game one night and Gold Panning the last day... Very fun having us all together!!!!!!! One day Scott, Jesse Kyle and myself went 4 wheeling at Jim Creek... trying to make our way to Matanuska Glacier... Didn't quite make it... but it was definitely fun and adventurous!! Scott & Kyle saw a moose... then "tried" heading across the creek to see if they could find it.... ended up sinking the 4 wheeler.... BRRRRRRR... Their new nicknames are Scuba Steve and Scuba Sam! Ha! I actually feel bad now because I did not HELP at all!!!! But... I did get some nice pix!!!! :)Actually I did wave Kyle's socks around a bit after he rung them out!!! Well... I really could go on all day! WE LOVE THEM SOOOOOO MUCH!!! J Take me out to the ball game June 13, 2007 Uncle Jesse, Aunt J Lo, Brock and Kelly enjoy a fun summer night at Midway Stadium. More pix |
